This coat of arms is the basic one of the Seeberger from the canton Luzern (Malters and Schwartzenberg).
Details about date and to whom it was granted are not known.
One day I will take the time to reproduce these coats of arms in colour! For the moment, this version must be sufficient.
In Birr the Seebergers are (falsely) not counted to the oldest families. It has to be mentioned, that both towns can only be seen together. Not only from the distance
they can hardly be divided, but since before 1500 it is a joined church.
Nevertheless, there is a coat of arms from Birr, that of Felix Seeberger, which was granted in 1855. This one is also mentioned in the records of the town of Zofingen, where this Felix from Birr moved to.
In the City-hall of Lupfig this coat of arms is situated. It is dated 1647. According to infos from the state-archive in Aarau, the coat of arms has been attached to the
rooftop of the church in Windisch /Aargau.
